These are our standard terms of service / engagement and terms of use of this website. Any instructions given by you will be deemed to be acceptance of these terms.

We strive to give you the best service we can. You accept that we can not guarantee the outcome of any investigation or enquiry.

You agree to supply, in writing, accurate and prompt information applicable to the investigation, including your desired outcome. We rely heavily on the information received from you. In some cases a reason why the information is being sought is required to access certain records. You agree to notify us promptly of any changes to information or your desired outcome. You agree that you have a lawful purpose for engaging us.

Upon engagement, you will pay an initial fee prior to the commencement of services. This will be outlined in the first consultation with you. A GST invoice/receipt will be given for this.

We will conduct investigative and administrative activities, and incur expenses, until a chargeable amount equal to the deposit is reached. Our hourly rate is $90 incl. GST. The mileage rate is $0.90 per km incl. GST. Other fees can be found on our pricing page.

Upon reaching the chargeable amount we will provide you with all information gathered up until that point. Should you wish to continue the investigation a further fee will be agreed upon and paid for on a separate invoice.

Any total fee estimates are a guide only, they are not a quote or a maximum fee. They are dependent on a number of factors during the investigation. We will keep you updated regularly on the progress of the investigation.

If we are required to testify in court in relation to the investigation, you will be billed at our standard hourly rate.

You acknowledge that some services provided to you by us may be carried out by an independent contractor or third party.

Further to the above, we will:

1. Abide by New Zealand law at all times
2. Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to the investigation (except if required by law)
3. Only incur actual and reasonable expenses
4. Maintain reasonable communication with you as to the progress of the investigation

We shall have no liability whatsoever (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) for any losses, claims, costs or damages suffered by you or any third party arising out of: any negligence by us, our agents or contractors in the performance of our obligations or any services provided; any breach by us of any term or provision; any advice, instructions or information given by us which is given in a negligent manner or which is incorrect in any aspect; and any misrepresentation in relation to this agreement or any other matter or thing whatsoever which may give rise to any cause of action against us.

Information on this website, or given to you by us, is not business, tax or legal advice. You should take specific advice from qualified professionals before taking any action based on this information.

We shall not be liable, and you hereby absolutely and irrevocably indemnify us, our contractors and our investigators, for all costs, claims and fees, damages and other monies incurred by us and the investigators in pursuance of the investigation on your behalf.

If, notwithstanding the aforementioned, we shall be liable in law to you in any way, our liability shall in all cases be limited to the total amount of fees payable to us under this agreement.
