Tracing (finding someone)
- Private investigators have access to databases, records, and other sources of information that are not easily available to the general public. We can use this information to track down a person’s location or contact information.
- P.I.s can conduct surveillance on a person’s known associates or family members to gather information about their whereabouts.
- If appropriate, a P.I. may interview people who may have information about the person being sought. This can include friends, family members, co-workers, or neighbors.
- We can also use online resources such as social media, public records, and search engines to locate a person.

What information do we need?
The list below explains the various pieces of information or ‘leads’ that we can use to find someone.

These are very important. We can generally find someone using a name and one other of these data points. If you only have a name, we may be able to use other level information instead.

High level of usefulness
These are also very helpful when finding an address for someone.
- Spouse or partner
- Phone numbers

- Memberships and associations
- Place of birth

Other background information

What information can we get for you?
The aim of our tracing service is to find a current residential address for the subject. While our primary focus is address verification, we may find additional contact information during the process – such as phone numbers, family, or employment details – which we can provide when appropriate.
This extra information isn’t guaranteed for every case, it depends on what we find in the course of our trace. If you require specific data points beyond the residential address, we can conduct additional enquiries which would be billed on an hourly basis.
Here’s what we’re likely to find in the course of a standard trace.
Most likely
- Current address – this is the objective of the trace
- Previous known addresses
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Companies or trusts
- Insolvency or bankruptcy info

Somewhat likely
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
Unlikely without further enquiries
- Employment details
- Family
- Vehicles
- Qualifications and education
- Memberships and associations
- Place of birth
- Associates, colleagues, friends
